My Public Health rotation was completed with Public Health Foundation WIC in Los Angeles, California, at their Normandie WIC center. This experience taught me so much about current policies in place, and what the organization does to make good nutrition available to low income families. This rotation also reinforced for me the importance of breast feeding for both mother and child, while also emphasizing the challenges that come with this choice.
I loved gaining such diverse experience in this location, and was exposed to different languages, cultures, dietary choices, and nutrition approaches. This rotation required me to be assertive, independent, and also highly adaptable to gain the most from the experience.
